Today, I began a new

The journey that I had been longing

The moment I prayed I could

The first step toward forever

Began today

And it only took one

One step forward

One motive of mine

One inspired passion of truth

Today, I took my breath away

I fell in love, with me

I grasped on to everything

My whole, my all, my destiny

And, now, I know

What it means to be alive

To give life unto the world

To be a shining star

Today, I loved them

I gave myself to them

I poured out my spirit

I made union with their souls

And, for the first time

They saw me for who I was

And, even though they couldn’t yet accept me

I know that deep down, they knew

Today, I was who I was

Nothing else mattered

Everything else mattered

Today, life began again
