What a day
Perfect in every way
I would not change a thing
I could not ask for more
It’s been a wholesome one
I learned life’s lessons
I played life’s games
I gained life’s blessings
Today, I looked up to the heavens
And saw both sun and moon
Looking back at me
At the same time
And, although it was cold
So much so that the air bit my lips
The sun gleamed brightly
And gave warmth to my core
Even still, on this perfect day
I wrote an old friend
Just to say hello
Just to reach out and touch again
What a complete day
So beautiful,
I’d dare not change a thing
So absolute
That when the sun went away
The stars came out to say
“What a day”
